Herman Miller Earns Multiple IDEA 2012 Honors
Herman Miller, Inc., along with several design partners, was recognized with four awards in the 2012 International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA). Sponsored by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) and publicly announced on July 2, 2012, the program’s jury recognized the SAYL Side Chair with a Bronze IDEA award in the category of “Office & Productivity”, and SAYL’s Live Unframed website earned distinction as a “Finalist” in the “Digital Design” category. The SAYL family of seating, designed by Yves Béhar and fuseproject, has now earned three IDEA awards with the SAYL Task Chair capturing a Silver IDEA award in 2011.
Herman Miller also received two additional “Finalist” recognitions: Herman Miller Healthcare, and partner Design Continuum, for Compass System Enhancements in the category of “Medical and Scientific Products”, and Herman Miller and designer Brian Kane for the Swoop collection of lounge seating and tables in the “Office and Productivity” category.
