OFDA Dealer Financial Comparison & Benchmarking Survey (DFC)

How Does Your Dealership Stack Up? 2013 OFDA DFC is Now Open

OFDA’s Dealer Financial Comparison & Benchmarking Guide, based on our annual survey of contract office furniture dealers throughout the United States and Canada, is the industry’s leading benchmarking program.  Leading industry consultants have contributed to the design of this survey and themselves draw upon its aggregate results for use with dealer best-practice discussion groups they administer.  Whether your company is a member of such a group or individually seeks to understand and act upon the data and in-depth analysis OFDA’s DFC provides, you will find great value in participating in this survey.

We invite you to ensure that your dealership’s information is part of our large sample that permits the generation of the highest quality of detailed financial and productivity benchmarking information and analysis available in our industry.  The survey allows you to compare your company’s financial performance to the industry’s best players in the most comparable dealer peer groups.  In this way, you can reliably assess and compare your operation’s strengths and weaknesses and set realistic goals for improvement.

Benchmarking information can also help dealers like you maintain stronger day-to-day control of your business – staying on top of expenses, managing cash, controlling debt and setting appropriate goals – capacities that are especially useful during tough economic times.

The survey is prepared by Industry Insights, a highly respected third-party data services company that has assisted OFDA and its members for many years in compiling, analyzing and reporting the DFC survey results in a manner that is easy to understand and apply in enhancing dealership business processes and financial performance.  They ensure full confidentiality of your proprietary data and are knowledgeable about our industry so they can help you accurately complete the survey if you have questions.

This year, participating dealers will again have the option of downloading the survey in an Excel spreadsheet version or may complete the survey online, whichever method is most convenient and efficient for them.

OFDA’s annual benchmarking survey is just one of the many benefits and values of Association membership.  This year, we are creating incentives for dealers who are not yet members of OFDA to join and become part of an industry community that will benefit from your full participation, while you gain the value that comes from being more connected with dealer peers who share your passion for continuous self-improvement.

OFDA members who participate in this survey will receive a complimentary customized Company Performance Report (CPR) that compares their financial results with those of the most relevant dealer peer group. They also will receive the summary data contained in the full survey report on a complimentary basis.

Non-member dealers are encouraged to participate in this valuable survey but will be asked to pay a modest fee of $100 to receive a CPR.  This fee may be applied toward the cost of joining OFDA in 2012, making it easier to capture the full value of Association membership.
